Hutto History
Williamson County was founded in 1848, and later on in 1876 Hutto was established after the International and Great Northern Railroad was developed three miles North of Shiloh, a little farming community close to the crossroads of FM 135 and FM 139 and North of Brushy Creek.
Today, all that is left of the once vibrant Shiloh community is The McCutcheon-Shiloh Cemetery.
The Hutto post office was built in 1877, and later on in 1915 the famous Hutto Hippo was built outside.
