Manor, Texas is a wonderful area to buy a home. There are many lovely houses in the Manor, Texas area. It is located in Travis County and is 12 miles East of Austin U.S. Highway 290. Its location at the interchange of the SH130 toll-road has helped it continue to grow over the recent years.
The city has a population of over 8,500. Its elevation is 531 feet, and it has a total area of 9.83 square miles.
Manor was founded in 1872 due to its location on the Houston and Texas Central Railway which allowed those who lived there to easily access other areas.
By the mid-1880’s Manor had grown to 125 residents and now included a school, three churches, and six general stores.
The area grew and shipped out Cotton, cottonseed and grain as their main exports. From there the population continued to increase and reached 500 by 1892 and 900 by 1914. By the late 1920s, Manor was up to 1,000 population-wise which then decreased during the Great Depression. Today, Manor has grown to a population of over 8,500 and is a wonderful area to buy a home.

It is recommended to contact the city to check which school district you fall into as the lines are always changing. One of the main districts is the Manor Independent School District.
