Rancho Alto is located in South Austin South of West Slaughter Lane on Frate Barker Road. You can access Rancho Alto from Brodie Lane or from Manchaca Road using Frate Barker. There is also a back entry from FM 1626 at Rancho Alto Road. The neighborhood is on the South side of Frate Barker across the road from the Olympic Heights community.

D.R. Horton Homes and Meritage Legacy Homes built and started Rancho Alto home sales in 2006. The construction finished in May 2011 with 407 single-family, one and two story homes built with 20 or so different floor plans. The floor plans range from 1,250 square feet to over 2,800 square feet. The homes also have r-38 insulation, granite kitchen countertops in most of the homes, cultured marble bathroom countertops, and tile floors in areas that tend to get wet.
Rancho Alto Austin Amenities
Rancho Alto is an affordable community in South Austin when compared to many of the surrounding communities in the area such as Shady Hollow or Bauerle Ranch.
It is also a beautiful place to live with some homes even having a stunning Hill Country view. There is also a park on O’Callahan Drive with a playground and picnic table.
The location is great and near shopping areas such as Southpark Meadows outlets and Southpark Meadows homes at West Slaughter Lane and I-35 in South Austin. Shady Hollow Village and Tanglewood Village on West Slaughter Lane are also nearby shopping areas.
Public parks also abound in the area such as 340-acre Mary Moore Searight Metro Park on the south side of West Slaughter Lane is a fun place to go and even has disc golf and picnic areas.
There are nearby golf courses in the Ravenscroft townhome area including Plum Creek Golf Club in Kyle, the Grey Rock Golf Club in Circle C Ranch that Austin City owns, and Austin City’s Jimmy Clay and Roy Kizer courses.
