The Sweetwater Glen subdivision is located conveniently just south of W. Slaughter Lane on Manchaca Road in South Austin. Its main entrance is at Redwater Drive on the east side of Manchaca Rd. The neighborhood has easy access to I-35 and Mopac (Loop 1).

Sweetwater Glen is a single-family home neighborhood with the legal description of a stand alone condominium. The last of the original homes sold for the first time in 2012.
This means that the purchasers actually own the stand-alone condo buildings, which is different from the purchasers of most condos. In Sweetwater Glen this means the owner needs to take care of the building structure and maintenance and needs to buy insurance for the building as well as maintain the yard. The land of the project is owned equally in shares by the condo owners.
There are also HOA fees that cover common area upkeep.

Sweetwater Glen is more affordable than many neighborhoods in South and Southwest Austin. Home sizes range from 1353 to 2190 square feet.
The homes are classicly designed with stone and brick fronts, and all have Hardiplank cement siding in the areas without masonry. They are painted in low-key natural colors to add a classic air to the neighborhood feel. They look similar to Grand Oaks and Sage Meadow communities that are nearby more so than some of the other communities nearby.
These homes have 3 to 4 bedrooms, 2 to 2.5 baths, and a 2-car garage. They also have yards with 6’ wood privacy fences, 2” faux wood blinds, and large master bedrooms. There is a community park that includes a playground and grills as well.
Sweetwater Glen Nearby Amenities
The community is close to the 344.8 acre Mary Moore Searight Metro Park which is east of the neighborhood at 907 West Slaughter Lane. The park has a picnic area and an 18-hole disc golf course.
Shopping can be done at the Southpark Meadows located at West Slaughter and I-35 that includes a Super Wal-Mart and Target, as well as many other apparel, electronic, sports, restaurants and specialty shops. The Tanglewood Village center which includes an HEB is also up the street at West Slaughter and Manchaca.
