Homes For Angels Texas Home Program
Are You Eligible?
The Homes for Angels Program assists the following angel professions* with a low 1% listing fee**, and 1.5% home-buying fee.
- Professional educators, which includes the following full-time positions in a public school district: school teachers, teacher aides, school librarians, school counselors, and school nurses
- Police officers and public security officers
- Firefighters and EMS personnel
- Veterans or active military
- Correction officers and juvenile corrections officers
- Medical services personnel including any employee of a hospital or medical facility, nursing faculty and allied health faculty
- Dental service personnel, including any employee of a dental office

**Note: the 3% buyer’s agent commission still applies for the home , so the home-listing total fee for this program is 4%. This fee is usually 5-6% and is set by the agent.

To qualify for the home-listing program, the only requirement is meeting one of the profession eligibility requirements.
To qualify for the home-buying program, you must also have a credit score of 620 and meet certain income requirements.
What Does the Homes for Angels Program Offer?
The Homes for Angels Program is designed to help Texans who serve their communities get full-service support at a low cost to sell or buy a home.
The program serves educators, police officers, firefighters, EMS, county jailers, medical workers, dental workers, and correctional officers.
What are the Benefits of the Program?
Texans who qualify for the Homes for Angels Program can:
- Sell their home in the Austin, Texas and surrounding area for a low 1% listing fee

- Buy a home with a low 1.5% home-buying fee. This varies and can typically this can be 3%.
What Can a Home Angel Typically Save?
Selling Home Angel Savings Example
A qualifying Angel selling their home can in some cases see a savings of 2% of total home sale price. For example, a home selling for $500,000 can cost the seller 6%, or $30,000 total.
Selling the same $500,000 home with the Home Angels program, at a 1%, ie 4% total listing fee, can save the seller $10,000 in home sale costs when compared to a 3%, ie, 6% home listing fee.

Buying Home Angel Savings Example
A qualifying Angel buying a home can in some cases see 1.5% of total home-buying fees waived when compared to a 3% buying agent fee.
For example, buying a $500,000 home, with a 1.5% buyer’s agent fee will save the buyer $7,500 when compared to buying the same home with a 3% buyer’s agent fee.
